If you pay the 35$ membership here you will be put into their slide registry and then all the curators who propose to have a show here will have to view the registry to even think about applying here. When I was living in Philly I drove up there to look at the registry so that I could propose to curate a show there. Unlike most curations they encourage artists to put their own work into the show that they are curating. That sets them apart, and gets them to have more artist curations than they other wise would. Well the space is nice, smaller than I thought it would be but it has high walls and lots of light. Everyone on staff was exceptionally helpful. The registry itself was what you would expect for a registry that was not curated. There was a lot of crap too wade through with a few good moments. After proposing a show, I never heard back from them.  Not even a sorry you suck, try later letter. I lived at the address I applied from well after a year and my mail was forwarded for another 6 months, so in that time I have no idea what happened to my proposal. Not cool. Everything else was cool though. I have met a few artist here and there in NY who have been curated in to shows there, and they have had good experiences and got into the show without the 35$ fee, as once a curator is accepted they don’t have to pull any artist from the registry. So I am also not cool with that 35$ fee. It seems non-sensible and just a way to get money. Okay so I have mixed feelings about this one, but not negative enough to give them a bad rating. Perhaps we can hear from you.
