This intimate, townhouse gallery is situated across from the Portland
Museum of Art's McLellan House. Since it's inception in 1992 the June
Fitzpatrick Gallery at High Street has established a strong reputation
as a leader in Maine's contemporary art arena.
Critics and arts commentators have described the gallery as "A principal
force for Maine connected Art" (Maine Sunday Telegram) and "One of
the best galleries for contemporary art north of Boston" (Maine Times).
The gallery features significant contemporary artists as well as carefully
selected newcomers.
Description:
A commercial gallery that mostly shows artist who have been educated in the area. The work shows dedication but varies in levels of intellectual merit. Most of the artists who show here are more interested in process, materials and craft.

The Gallery , featuring six to eight unique exhibits per year, is operated by a volunteer committee with a staff liaison, who plan, curate and hang the exhibits. Exhibits may be juried, invitational or in-depth studies of a particular artist, style or medium. The public is invited to all opening receptions, which are held for each of the exhibits
