Editors Description
They show and sell the big names like Tomaselli.  If you don’t know who he is then don’t even consider applying here.  They also represent a lot of good cotemporary photography.

Editors Description:
I was reading about Boston galleries and a few strong players galleries have closed down there in the last year. The article in the Boston Globe was saying it was the pressure of art sales on the internet and the big Fairs like Basel, and the Armory. So unless you’re a really big established gallery which a budget to travel you may have a hard time getting foot traffic. I found this a sad sign of globalization and bad for  the local community art scene. Well this same article gave this gallery the award for the most innovative show of the year. They are that. This is a fare size space, with satellite galleries and a  theater whose mandate is to bring art to the community. They bring all kinds of art at all levels from all over, to enrich the experiences of their patrons. And they get the foot traffic lament at the beginning of this article because they do so much. They are also funded the College Art Association which means that they have an academic image to maintain.

Rating –Good
Level – Intermediate
Type – Traditonal
Subcategory:  commercial/painting/realism

Their Published Description:
Since its inception in 1990, Chase Gallery has become well known for exhibiting outstanding contemporary artists working today with a clarity of vision and integrity of form. Broadening its spectrum, Chase Gallery has built on its original premise of exhibiting representational painters to be inclusive of abstract artists, both of which have strong narrative elements. Artists represented by the gallery are primarily well known regionally, however, several have national and international recognition.

Editors Description
If you are a good traditional realist painter, or a painter who tends to make painterly slightly abstracted landscapes of still lifes, you should have nice Chianti with these people. Especially if your goal in life is to sell the fore mentioned styles of painting.
