I would like to applaud this gallery and the director for brining interesting shows and lectures to a place that has a very small budget and to an area with a very limited understanding of contemporary art. Kudos’ to this gallery director for her ingenious money raising skills to take a pitiful budget (all the money at this school goes into football) and turning it into something manageable.  All calls for entry to curated shows here come without any entry fee, which I am all for and only possible because of the forementioned skill. The director here understands the artist’s predicament, as she herself is an artist.  This space will often have a guest curator, so sometimes the quality of what is chosen is dependant on the curator. But I really believe that bringing any good art to that part of the world is an amazing task, so keep on trucken Auburn.
